Every few months, I like to feature a face or body model, who generously donated photos, which I base paintings on. In saying thank you, I like to give one 11x14 painting back to the model to show my appreciation (for free). I typically wait until I have two or three works completed before a model is featured, so these features are on an occasional basis (good paintings take a long time). If you would like to know more about being featured as a face model, please click the following link:

How to be featured

You don't have to be perfect to be a face/body model,
and besides I can change whatever you want changed: hey, it's art.

(All work is hand painted with a paint brush: oil on canvas)

The Artistry of Marc Eliuk, is featuring a Face Model:

Ashleigh

Ashleigh is a nurse from Saint John NB, and is simply gorgeous. Her inner warmth and outer beauty, made her an ideal candidate for painting as a face model. The challenges I had in painting was that Ashleigh's beautiful symmetry causes her to look different in various lightings and I endeavored to capture her inner beauty on canvas while painting her flawless features. I believe this was successful and I hope to paint one more of Ashleigh before the end of this feature.

Ashleigh Beautiful Faces oil painting

This is the first of Ashleigh, yet it is not as beautiful as she is in real life. It's amazing, people walking by at exhibits and also the Saint John City Market would stop in their tracks just to admire this painting of Ashleigh,above all my other works, many have said that this is one of their favorite works by me. I believe that this work will only gain value over time and might one day be more well-known that I will be.

Ashleigh 2

This is based on an earlier photo of Ashleigh and again her appearance changes with different lightings; therefore, I decided to paint this one as my interpretation of Ashleigh. It is based on her appearance but I changed a few things to reflect my perception of her:

1. The hairstyle was made to look more natural to suit how I perceive her as naturally beautiful;

2. I painted a subtle "glow" around her, which is what I often see around warm, gentle people as Ashleigh truly is. This is the first time I've tried this effect with my painting as I like to make the warmth come directly from the face and the eyes. I believe this experiment worked with further enhancing her warmth as I see her.

Thank you Ashleigh!
